To talk about the weather has always been one of my predilect topics for the blog, despite being that conversation topic you only bring out when you’re in the middle of an uncomfortable and clumsy talk to finish with the awkward silence -usually with total strangers-, because as we know it’s socially acceptable to talk about how much it’s been raining lately, the insufferable heat or how much you wish it to be Spring again. Personally I like to talk about the weather because, after the personal style, it’s the principal definer of what we are gonna wear that day, and it’s especially hard to do through seasons.
What can you wear when you’re walking in the cold to the office but once inside it’s hot as hell because of the A/C? The idea is to create layers, and to do that you don’t actually need to buy new things or limit yourself to thick fabrics, but to mix and match the things you already have. Look for garments you can easily take off without ruining the whole outfit, start with the lightweight fabrics and end up with the thick ones, that way when you’re inside of a tempered place you won’t feel your wool sweater itching, and if you come up with an harmonious color combination besides the ordinary black, white and grey, you get extra points. |
