As we all know, vitamins provide a wide range of benefits to our overall internal health such as preventing cancer, strengthening bones, regulating the immunologic and cardiovascular systems and so on... Taking our good share of vitamins daily combined with a well-balanced diet are the perfect combo towards acing our health yearly check. And, not only do vitamins offer wonders to our health but to our beauty as well. Duh. Beauty IS health after all... Every vitamin brings benefits to our skin or hair in different measures. However, in my own personal opinion, taking too many vitamins may be toxic, so I prefer fueling my body with vitamins that come from food. According to specialists, this truly is the most natural and healthiest way to introduce vitamins into our system.

All fruits, vegetables and proteins have a good share of vitamins, and are more than ideal to fight certain beauty issues like skin damage, dull hair or weak muscles. Below, there's a list of the most common vitamins with their main beauty benefits, and the foods that contain them the most. Identify your vitamin deficiency (if any) and begin paying regular visits to the farmers' market.
- Vitamin A: Gives you glowing, even-toned skin and a healthy scalp. Find it in carrots, broccoli, spinach, eggs, and grapefruits.
- Vitamin B: Decreases breakouts, by adjusting oil levels of skin, and boosts your metabolism. It also helps with muscle toning. Find it in tuna, beans, nuts, bananas, and chicken.
- Vitamin C: Increases collagen production for healthier, younger-looking skin, and diminishes the appearance of scars and skin marks. Find it in citrus fruits, apples, cabbage, cauliflower, and tomatoes.

- Vitamin D: Strengthens teeth and bones, and combats dry skin. Find it in salmon, tuna, and dairy products.
- Vitamin E: Minimizes the appearance of skin marks, scars, burns and inflammations, and protects skin from sun damage. Find it in nuts, green leafs, and natural fruit juices.
- Vitamin K: Prevents and diminishes the appearance of under-eye dark circles. Find it in lettuce, parsley, kale, broccoli and cauliflower.
- Antioxidants: Prevents skin damage and conditions hair. Find it in dark chocolate, onions, eggs, tea, and berries.
Happy vitamin-ed eating!
